This film tells the story of Paris as it’s truly lived: through tired feet, frayed nerves, dark-circled eyes. From Friday morning to dawn on Monday, the city shifts through its phases the grey machinery of everyday life, the weekend rush, the overload that spills over and eventually settles. Through gestures, fragments, crowds, excess and rare moments of breath, beauty slips through despite the social and sensory violence. Not postcard beauty, but the kind that appears in a spontaneous act of kindness, a reflection in a puddle, a flash of light. Paris becomes a living, contradictory organism.
I work as an assistant director, production coordinator, and intimacy coordinator on short-format projects. I spend a lot of time observing Paris. We’ve been in a relationship for 31 years now… I took up gardening to see more green, and video editing to unload my head and my phone.
