Madame Sidewalk walks through the city. Nothing truly sets her apart, except for the silent tension that inhabits each of her steps. At every street corner, she stops. She observes, hesitates, sometimes steps back. The city continues to move around her: hurried passersby, the dull sound of asphalt. She remains suspended, as if held back by something invisible. She is not in danger. Yet everything feels risky. To cross, to decide, to commit. Then comes the moment when hesitation ends. The world subtly shifts. Fear gives way to boldness.
